Susan Louise Stewart Grubb, 83, of Littleton, passed away January 19, , after a short hospital stay. She was a graduate of Weskan Consolidated Schools and Ft. She taught at the junior high level in Westminster and Longmont, Colorado. One evening she attended a church function and met Gayle Jackson.
David Arthur joined the family in , and Matthew Paul in Then she was happily trying to keep up with her two very active little boys. Susan became a Day Care Mom which allowed her to stay home with her boys, and she made lasting friendships with the parents and the children she watched. After completing classes to become a neuromuscular massage therapist, she founded and operated the Center for Neuromuscular Massage Therapy with clinics in Littleton, Cherry Creek, and Lakewood.
She also volunteered her time to improve the legal status of massage therapists in Colorado through legislation and was a leader in the Colorado Coalition of Massage Therapists. Anyone who ever received a massage from Susan would agree, she had healing hands.
Ray Grubb square danced into her life and they discovered they had many shared interests. Romance blossomed and they were wed January 26, After Susan retired from her massage therapy business, she and Ray became snowbirds and wintered in south Texas and Arizona.
They eventually bought a winter home in Mesa, Arizona. They played cards several times a week, went on outings and made many close friends. They always returned to Littleton for the summers because family drew them back home. Family and traditions were a priority for Susan. She loved her family deeply and took great pride in them. She was happiest and most content when surrounded by her family.
