Go to blog Go to description. In recent years, digitisation has become increasingly important in the historical sciences, both in research and in teaching. In this blog, we the Unit for Digital Teaching and Research at the Department of History, University of Cologne will report on experiences and specific applications of digital elements in higher education as well as in research contexts of the historical sciences.
In addition, we want to reflect on which digital competences are necessary for future historians and how they can be implemented in curricula and syllabi. Finally, we will discuss how digitasation is changing the way we teach, study and write history. Coordinated by Pierre-Yves Milcent and David Lallemand, the program focuses on a micro-region of the southern Allier and the middle Sioule basin, which experienced intense occupation during the Bronze Age, the Iron Age and the Roman period.
At the crossroads of the Gallic peoples of the Arvernes and the Bituriges, it is polarized by large settlements. The objective is to better understand the structuring and the history over the long term of this sector located at the crossroads of two large territories.
