Black Panther is a proper epic fashioned in a modern way, a historic depiction of Black culture on screen, and a showcase for the talents of its lead actor, the late Chadwick Boseman. The film is as thoughtful as it is entertaining, a slick and fast-paced essay on the economics of power.

He lets the emotions come about naturally, while Binoche and Carell anchor the film with their unlikely chemistry.
