Then travel to Okinawa, one of the 5 blue zones in the world where people experience very low rates of chronic disease and extreme longevity.
In addition to learning the secrets to a long, healthy life, you will also be able to immerse yourself in Japanese culture and traditions. This course explores the relationship between nutrition and health in diverse cultures and religions. Students will analyze cultural cuisine, examine acculturation, and compare the nutrition and health aspects of cultural foods.
Be advised that the Application Fee and Deposit are out of pocket costs. Consider doing a Valencia Foundation Scholarship Application to help cover costs for your program. It is important that this course count towards your degree or certificate program; otherwise, your financial aid payment may be reduced. These departments will be contributing a percentage towards the cost of participation.
