Three new faculty members have been appointed to the Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory and Continuing Education division, joining a distinguished group of educators. Stanislav Golovin, clarinet; J. Sherman, tuba; and Weizhen Yang, piano, will work with students of all ages and experience levels in the preparatory department, teaching private lessons and providing a musical foundation while inspiring students to progress. Golovin and Yang are both alumni of CIM.
Judy A. Their distinguished records as performers, and most importantly, their teaching experiences, particularly with young musicians, are indicative of the excellence that characterizes a CIM education. Golovin has performed as a solo, chamber and orchestral musician throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Sherman studied with Ronald T.
James Albrecht at the University of Akron bass trombone. As a recipient of many honors and awards, Yang has performed as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician in many parts of the world.
As an educator, Yang enjoys working with students of all ages, from beginners to pre-college students and adults. Her students have participated in various regional, national and international music festivals and competitions, winning top honors. Yang volunteers as a pianist in retirement centers and hospitals.
