Wayne Mardle has issued a three word statement after making his Sky Sports Darts return. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, after Michael van Gerwen had dumped Luke Littler out of the first round, Mardle posted: "I needed that," adding a heart emoji.
While a second said: "One of the good guys and the love of sport showing what a great healer it can be for so many! We've all missed the voice of darts and it's great to have him back," a third posted. And another added: "What a game to come back for btw, an instant Premier League classic! Mardle had skipped the World Darts Championship after his wife's tragic passing - Emma Paton had the tough task of informing the viewing audience as she explained Mardle's absence.
