Hot, nutritionally balanced meals are delivered Monday-Friday by our agency and dedicated volunteers to home-bound seniors age 60 and above in Bamberg, Denmark. We also offer and deliver 5 day frozen food boxes to those that live out of Bamberg and Denmark city limits. We also have a private pay program for those needing meals who do not qualify due to age requirements.
Group dining is provided Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at the Rhoads' Senior Center in a socially stimulating setting that includes a hot, nutritionally balanced meal, various craft classes, games, music and health education programs.
This could change to more days depending on the demand. The Senior Center also provides social support and monthly health screenings. Non-emergency medical transportation is provided to Medicaid eligible recipients.
We transport clients to doctors appointments in our county and surrounding counties and also Columbia, Charleston, Aiken, and Augusta, Ga. See below for other than Medicaid transportation. Transportation is provided to medical appointments if not Medicaid eligible , for shopping, paying bills, work, back and forth to our meal site, and other activities as needed.
