I do not discriminate. I am working on a husband and wife doctor, they are considering me to also set up my chair at their office. I would say that experience and qualifications are very important, however, one can be very knowledgeable and experienced, and you still not may like the therapist's style.
Be open about your expectations up front and make sure that there is communication between you two. I have been to a therapist who did not speak any English at all; potentially this could be dangerous, because a therapist must be aware of any contraindications you may have.
