The Hillbark Hotel and Spa in Frankby, Wirral, is appealing for help after thieves broke into the premises and took 'irreplaceable' bottles of wine and champagne in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police say two masked offenders broke into the hotel some time between 1am and 8am before making off with a large quantity of alcohol. The hotel announced that it was 'deeply saddened' by its first break-in for 19 years on its Facebook page - and asked for the public's help in getting the rare wine back. Among the bottles taken were a magnum of Bollinger champagne, Perrier Jouet champagne and a Shiraz.
The Hillbark Hotel, built in , claims to be the UK's smallest five star hotel and has a total of 18 bedrooms.
