Our Emergency Services offer victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and intimate partner stalking emotional support, information, compassion, accompaniment, referral and advocacy services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Law enforcement officers in Waterbury and all of the surrounding towns are trained to immediately connect a victim via a hotline call to an advocate for emergency safety planning and enhanced service provision. Statewide domestic violence hotline acts as an immediate triage service.
Safe Connect Advocates identify and assess the services needed and connect the client to their local domestic violence provider. People who have been assessed as needing assistance in the Greater Waterbury Area will be connected to your local Safe Haven Advocate.
Residents are provided with meals, clothing, toiletries and transportation. Advocates create a warm and safe environment promoting healing and growth. Residents have space to reflect, plan and think through their next steps to their future goals.
Advocates provide intensive case management partnering with residents throughout their stay. Counselor advocates provide emotional support, advocacy, and access to victim assistance at St. Victims have the right to contact an advocate to provide support for both the victim and their family members after an incident.
Counselor advocate can answer any questions you may have, as well as provide information and referrals. The advocate will also offer you follow-up care such as in-person counseling, assistance with law enforcement concerns, and accompaniments to future court hearings and legal interviews.
