Mission: Erin Stevens has set up a ministry to help strippers working in Nashville clubs. A strip club is probably the last place you would expect to see a pastor's wife but that's exactly where Erin Stevens can be found each week in Nashville. The wife of the Friendship Community Center's pastor visits exotic dancers at Nashville clubs, where she provides them with a home-cooked meal, a sympathetic ear, and help and advice.
Mrs Stevens, who has three sons, felt compelled by God to help those women in her community who were in need of the most salvation.
The year-old called a Nashville club and asked if she could provide home-cooked meals to the women there before they started work. Since she started her branch of the National Strip Church ministry in October, Mrs Stevens has met about dancers at several of the 'gentleman's clubs' in Nashville. She said many of the women have told her they were abused as children, leading them to turn to stripping as a way to control men. Network: Erin's ministry is part of a wider community who make up gift bags and train people to offer support. She added: 'Many of them lead two separate lives, their friends and families don't know they dance. The pastor's wife also offers practical support and has helped some of the women to regain their confidence and find careers. After meeting Mrs Stevens a year-old, whose name has not been released, made the decision to retrain and join the police.
She said God still loves me, basically. The woman worked her last shift as a stripper in April, thanks to a 'peaceful revelation' powered by Mrs Stevens, she said. Another woman told Mt Juliet News that after meeting Mrs Stevens she felt accepted at church and, through a member of the congregation, was able to find a job that enabled her to work from home. My conscious is clear. When she first reached out to the strip club owners, Mrs Stevens had asked club owners: 'Can I come and show the girls love in a practical way with no strings?
