He has to be lifted in and out of the bed. The caregivers get him out of bed, they clean him up, and they toilet him. At night, they do the reverse. We could do it with them. We have been fortunate to have good people to come and help him. When we first got started, they were very helpful and nice to us.
The cleaning and laundry is what helps the most. They respond quickly. We've had some issues and they have answered quickly. They listen and try to work with us. The companionship is the most helpful part of services for him. They find great companionship for him. They cook for him and make sure that he's eating right. I like that they are reliable, and they are willing to do things that are unique for the patient.
It has been lifesaving for my mom, The caregivers help my mom with all sorts of stuff like taking her to physical therapy. Some of the caregivers are hardworking and my mom has really good service. It helped me daily to have something to do. For my loved one, it helps him to not be frustrated trying to do things by himself. It was out there, and I was able to read about it and get familiar. She makes sure his needs are taken care of and she communicates properly.
I do not live with the client and we feel comfortable knowing he is cared for. The interaction the coordinator has with our family is great.
