District Court Monday morning, bringing an end to the state and federal cases against him for what prosecutors describe as a sex trafficking enterprise in the western U. Winston Burt, 32, aka "Dice Capone," will serve a year sentence on two federal felonies related to sex trafficking, followed by a term of 15 years of supervised federal release.
At a sentencing hearing, Assistant United States Attorney Kate Crishman recounted the brutality of Burt's actions against the girls he forced to do sex work on Aurora Avenue in Seattle. He was counting on the victims being too broken and vulnerable to report him to law enforcement.
Prosecutors painted a picture of Burt as a pimp who lived a lavish lifestyle at the expense of the girls who worked in prostitution on the streets of Seattle. Burt forced the girls to get his name tattooed on their faces and set daily quotas for them. Burt's time as a pimp came to an end shortly after a dramatic shootout with an Uber driver in north Seattle.
The woman was held against her will, and Burt took the woman back to Aurora Avenue and forced her to strip to her underwear. Burt and two other women forced the victim into a car and began driving toward a north Seattle motel when she jumped out of the car and ran into traffic wearing only her underwear. A nearby Uber driver saw what was happening and gave her a ride away from Burt and the women who were trying to force her back into Burt's car, according to court records.
Burt gave chase to the Uber and fired shots at the car. The Uber driver had a gun and fired shots back at Burt.
