Deputies responded to reports of a possible shooting at Kunkel Park, in the block of Lemon Grove Way, at around p. Deputies arrived at the scene and found a Hispanic male in his 50s at Kunkel Park with a wound on his upper torso.
Sheriff's officials confirmed the victim was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital for medical treatment, but was later pronounced dead.
The sheriff's Homicide Unit assumed lead on the investigation; the motivation and circumstances surrounding the incident were unclear but investigators believe the victim and the suspect were acquainted. Sheriff's officials told ABC 10News the suspect in the case is a Hispanic male adult, weighing about pounds, and was last seen wearing a light-blue sweatshirt with blue jeans.
