This incident in Monmouth County took place Monday and West Long Branch Police answered the call and one officer made the daring rescue in the icy waters to save the child. According to Patch , "The boy was alone, walking home from school, and he may have been trying to take a shortcut across the frozen pond when he fell through the ice, said police.
The boy was treated at a nearby hospital. According to reports the boy was submerged in icy water up to his shoulders and stated he could not feel his limbs when police rescued him.
