It's a new school year. For many it's a time for returning β the elation from the thrill of being "home" again; the joy of fa- miliar faces and easy smiles; the hint of condescension and a touch of sadness for the faces who have disappeared from the crowd. For the novitiate, it is a time for commence- mentβ days that are too long and too full of wild, mad confusion; laughter and new people ; envy for the assurance of those who already belong here and fear of being lost and forgotten.
