It helps me out with cleaning and everything. I like the quality of their work. We're getting used to the routine and there are things that we'll be adding on, but we haven't quite gotten there yet. It took a while to find a consistent caregiver, but the service itself has been good.
The mother does not know how to lift. The daughter does a good job. The mother needs to learn how to use a gait belt. She needs to learn how to lift someone from their chair.
She needs training. The caretaker will always bring me up when I am down. They always make sure that someone is here to help me out. She does excellent. She does my laundry. I like the girl they send. I am uncomfortable telling people what to do, so I wish that the caregivers were a little more experienced and that they had more initiative.
That would make my life a lot more comfortable. So far, the caregivers haven't seemed very experienced. For example, I asked a guy to do some light vacuuming and clean the bathrooms the other day, and he wasn't very thorough. He seemed very nervous, and I think I was one of his first clients. He cleaned the counters off after he did the floors, and things off the counter fell back on the floor.
I tried to correct him nicely and the second time he came things were better. We had both relaxed some by the second visit. They try to get people that have the best interest of my mother. I've been with them for several years. They have tried to provide for my mother's needs. The caregiver has made a big difference in my husband's life. They are very easy to work with, they keep us informed.
