This contribution details the adopted technical solutions and performances achieved, reviews some of the key published results and outlines the future direction of the instrument. The temporally and spatially resolved tracking of lithium intercalation and electrode degradation processes are crucial for detecting and understanding performance losses during the operation of lithium-batteries.
