Deonia Brown, 33, of Neptune, was found with condom wrappers and money in her hotel room, and police say she is no stranger to law enforcement. According to police, Officer Joseph Radlinsky was investigating online advertisements promoting prostitution in the township when he found a picture of a woman who he recognized from prior investigations. Radlinsky found the ad on Backpage. Police say Brown was wanted in connection with active warrants from six different jurisdictions, so Radlinsky went to the hotel to arrest her for those offenses.
But when Brown opened the door, police say, Radlinsky noticed condom wrappers lying around the room and money on a table. Brown then admitted that she had accepted money for sex, according to police.
Joseph Amodio said. Police say hotels in Lawrence are hotspots for prostitution and drug activity, which is why Radlinsky regularly gathers information about possible illegal activity happening at local establishments. We try to be proactive, but you lock up one person and two more come into town. Police say Yang also placed ads for escort services on Backpage. And in July , two women were arrested for allegedly engaging in prostitution out of the Red Roof Inn.
Police are continuing to investigate prostitution at the Howard Johnson, and there may be charges filed against the people who are promoting escort services online.
