The last few weeks were full of exams and paper writing, but once those were done, the excitement of the exchange term continued until the bitter end! Farewell Gala : Culture Connection organized a farewell gala for all of the exchange students, and it took place on a boat of sorts out on the Seine river! It was way too much fun to dress up and dance the night away:.
My last few weeks away were certainly some to remember, as were the last four months. Thanks for reading! Find my best attempt at being reflective here. This weekend I ventured off on a bus ride across the water to London to visit Emily!
To get there, our bus took the Euro Tunnel, which was interesting since our bus basically drive into a big metal box and was zipped through the ocean - it felt like it took barely no time at all! I arrived late afternoon on Thursday, and managed to find my way around the underground and train station with minimal confusion, which is sort of expected given that the signs were actually in English for once! It was a bit funny to have a British Simbaβ¦sounded more like Oliver Twist to me for the first bit - they even modernized it a bit by throwing some Frozen references in there!
All in all it was a very enjoyable performance - I would have loved to stick around and catch Wicked as well. After escaping the park without getting trampled on by the rather large amount of people, we grabbed dinner at a lovely Italian spot and ran on over to skate under the London Eye! It was a lovely little outdoor rink with lights and music that was overflowing with Christmas spirit.
Happy December! This weekend consisted of the much anticipated trip to Amsterdam! Anyhow, it was a really neat exhibit, and well worth the nine euro price when compared to other more expensive exhibits in the city.
