Directed by Rohena Gera. An intimate look at the human quest for love and happiness, the film enters the inner spaces of the Indian family setup, capturing the obligations, social pressures, family bonds, excitement and double standards surrounding marriage. Not sure why this has such a low rating on Netflix. They've chosen a good range of people who are honest about arranged marriages in modern India and tell very interesting stories!
Takes forever to get to the payoff, and in the end, I'm not sure if the payoff is worth the wait. Somewhat interesting doc on arranged marriage versus western ideals.
I always think maybe we are doing it wrong. Or better yet I think maybe we put too much stock in our way. There are some aspects of the arranged thing that I do not like at all, but then other aspects that make sense to me. Though I'm talking arranged marriage in the sense of it being the persons choice.
