The Furon canyon is probably the most famous canyon in the area. It is located in Vercors Range, accessible too by bus or bike, an hour form Lyon. The upper part is the most popular. There are many ways to do it, full canyon or super short version. Lots of jumps, water slides, ziplines, abseiling down and some other cool stuff to play with water and have fun with each other.
The 1sr Jump is about 33 ft high that only the ones who are skilled for jumping will do. At the end of one of the parts, another jumps is 26 ft high, for the good ones too.
Keep in mind that the instructor will always be the one who can tell if the jump is possible yes or no and who can jump or not. Here the water, as it comes from mountain, is constantly fresh that is good in summer! You will be equipped and well insulated by good quality neoprene wetsuit and neoprene socks. A route with rappel down, climbing, zip line in an incredible landscape near St Nizier du Moucherotte. Guess what, the lower part is noted just below the upper part!! Also a classic with more vertical than the superior and you will encounter a tributary gettinfg from a famous cave "les Cuves de Sassenage" when passing in front of the exite of it.
Mainly vertical with abseiling down and an interesting concretions room. This VF is the most popular in France. The two parts bring to the top of the Bastille in Grenoble through 17th Century fortifications climbing. Near Grenoble, just above Claix, this canyon is mostly known for its impressive ft high waterfall. At the bottom of Presles crags, above Choranche caves, this route is aerial, with a ft rappel down for all levels.
